Configure and troubleshoot desktop settings.
Every user profile begins as a copy of Default
User, which is a default user profile stored on
each computer running Windows 2000. The
NTuser.dat file within Default User displays
configuration settings from the Windows 2000
registry. Every user profile also uses the
common program groups, contained in the All
Users folder.
The desktop can contain shortcuts to your most
frequently used programs, documents, and
printers. The desktop can also be the home of
active content such as a news or travel channel.
To adjust settings such as desktop color and
background, right-click any empty area on the
desktop, and then click Properties.
By default, the desktop displays the following:
-
Taskbar
-
My Documents
-
My Computer
-
My Network Places
-
Recycle Bin
